History
Charity - helping 'Partners from Eastern Europe'
Trans-mission Partnerships was established in 2001. The work grew out of ten year's experience of working in Romania, taking humanitarian aid and teams of volunteers. This formed the basis of 'People Partnerships'.
In 2001 the first humanitarian aid trip was taken to Ukraine and a video was made showing the adventure. Our contacts were friends from a Holiday Centre for children from Chernobyl located in the Carpathia Region in a town called Poliana. Most of our aid was for the General Hospital in the main town of Svalyava. As a result of this trip 'Trans-mission Partnerships' was born!
Since our first visit to Ukraine, several additional visits were made to the Carpathia Region then more recently to a town called Berdychev, around 2-3 hours from Kyev. Here a number of social projects have been established as well as 'partners from Berdychev' visiting the UK. The highlight being Nadyia from a main hospital and Anhelina, a Paediatrician Psychologist supporting children with disabilities.
Contacts have been maintained in Romania and work has taken place.
This has been in Poineille De sub Munte, a village of 13,000 people located in the Carpathia Region near the Ukraine borders. Also a limited amount of work in the towns of Aiud, Cluj and Jibou.
In 2004, Andrew Flintoff (Freddy) agreed to be Patron of Trans-mission Partnerships.
