Ioni, Maria and sons are a remarkable family. Not only because they spend their time supporting families living in extreme poverty, but also because Ioni is totally blind !!

Photo shows a typical 'food package' which we purchased around Christmas 2004. For many this was the only food they would have and it certainly brought joy and happiness making Christmas more tolerable.

 
3 years previous to this photo was taken, this lady's house collapsed. Since then she's lived in this 'bunker' without lighting or heating. On this day it was minus 15*. On our arrival with this food, the lady broke down in tears then rummaged around to find a candle. This was 'her way' of saying thank you to God and to us.

Here's a family proudly holding the food packages given plus shoe boxes for the children which had already been sent from the UK.

This family had very little resources. Mum has 'special needs' and baby is physically disabled yet sharing with 3 or 4 brothers/sisters in one bed. A donation from a close friend had been given from the UK for an identified need so we purchased an extra bed. Christmas had come early with this grateful family.
